The Somali Oregon Service Center
The Somali Oregon Service Center (SOSC) is a community-based nonprofit organization committed to supporting individuals and families who are socially and economically disadvantaged—particularly, though not exclusively, those of Somali origin and heritage living or working in Oregon.
Founded on September 30, 2020, by a group of dedicated local volunteers, SOSC was established to serve refugees and immigrants across the state. Our mission is to uplift and empower underserved communities through culturally responsive support and services.
We provide free and impartial information, advice, and guidance on a wide range of issues, including healthcare access, public benefits, housing, immigration support, school enrollment, and employment assistance. In addition, our programs focus on health, education, youth development, and community building to help families thrive and contribute to a safer, more inclusive Oregon.
