Somali Oregon Service Center Launches Peace & Nutrition Training Program

The Somali Oregon Service Center is proud to announce the successful launch of our Peace & Nutrition Training Program for 20 Afghan immigrant and refugee participants in Portland, Oregon.

This six-week program, made possible through our valued partnership with CareOregon, focuses on promoting healthy lifestyles, nutrition education, mental well-being, community connection, and peaceful conflict resolution.

During the first session, participants came together with enthusiasm to learn, share experiences, and build stronger connections within their new community. Through interactive discussions and practical nutrition education, participants gained valuable knowledge to support the health and well-being of themselves and their families.

We are honored to support Afghan immigrant and refugee families as they continue their journey toward stability, health, and community integration.

A special thank you to CareOregon, our staff, volunteers, and participants for making this program possible.

Together for Peace. Together for Health. Together for Stronger Communities.
